Summer 2026

Idea to Hardware

Every device you own started the same way: someone imagined it before anyone could build it. This summer, we're closing the gap between the two, bringing together a community of makers, hackers, and creators to move from prompt to prototype. Bring what you've been imagining, let MakerSpace handle the friction, and let's see how fast we can turn words into physical machines.

Submissions open August 1st

What is the Build Contest?

Use MakerSpace to design any hardware project of your choice, build it, and share it, for a chance to win over ₹3,04,000 in prizes.

Any build qualifies, as long as it's built around your MakerSpace design and the cost stays under ₹20,000 INR. You can prompt MakerSpace to include the specific components you want, rather than using the exact parts it recommends.

How winners are chosen

Submissions are judged on three criteria:

Originality

A novel idea or a fresh take, not a copy of an existing tutorial.

Creativity

Clever use of what you've got. Gut a toaster, repurpose spare parts, and build something no one saw coming.

Presentation

How clearly your demo post communicates what you built.
